Annotating (looking for clues)
Annotation is a type of close reading. writing annotations is purposeful note-taking. Annotating in literature is the same as looking for clues within a text. When given guided reading questions, annotations can help to locate and note the answers. These clues can be written on sticky notes, in the margins (only with permission, or on a separate piece of paper. There are many reasons to annotate, our focus is on the guided reading questions, but other reasons include the following.
